O enciclopedie a celor mai bune 1001 de filme, ordonate cronologic, cu fotografii, afise de film, index tematic si un index de regizori. Filmul a fost lansat in Statele Unite si Canada pe 22 noiembrie 2006, reusind sa stranga 10.144.010 $ si alte 5.761.344 pe intreg mapamondul. Parerile criticile au fost impartite.

The Fountain prezinta trei povesti, separate intre ele de cinci secole. In secolul al XlV-lea America Centrala pe teritoriu Maya, conchistadorul Tomas este in cautarea Copacului Vietii, cel despre care legenda spune ca ofera viata vesnica celor care beau din seva lui. In 2000, Tommy, om de stiinta acum, cauta un leac pentru sotia suferinda de cancer, pentru ca, 500 de ani mai tarziu, Tom incepe sa desluseasca misterele vietii.

Cand Warner Bros a oprit preproductia lui The Fountain, Aronofsky si-a rezervat dreptul de a publica un roman pe baza scenariului filmului care murise inca din fasa. Acesta a declarat: “Am stiut ca filmul este greu de realizat si am spus atunci ca daca Hollywood-ul mi-o va trage, macar sa fac o carte de benzi desenate din asta”. S-a intalnit cu Kent Williams caruia i-a dat dreptul de a-i intepreta desenele in orice fel doreste.

Filmul a fost lansat pe DVD, HD DVD si Bluray in Statele Unite pe 15 mai 2007. Partile bonus au fost incluse aici.
